In the news-desks, here in London, there is a joke about the economies of the countries that have asked financial support. It goes like this.
The Premiers of Portugal, Ireland and Greece visited God and asked Him for help.
“God when do You think that we will manage to overcome the financial crisis in our country?” asked the Prime Minister of Portugal. “You have big trouble, but due to the austerity measures in your country, at least in 20 years” God replied.
“What about us?” asked the Irish Prime Minister. “You with the problems you have and your higher salaries than the Portuguese, you will need more than 30 years” the reply came.
“And us?” asked the Greek Prime Minister, obviously worried. “You don’t need to worry”, God answered.
With the problems you have, the high salaries and zero production of your country, none of you, not even Myself, will be alive when this day comes.”
